Every month we bring you fresh, hand-picked smartphone recommendations across different budgets. Last month we covered the ₹40,000, ₹15,000 and ₹20,000 segments. This time we’re tackling the ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 range.

Honestly, this segment has become tricky. Prices are going up across the board — phones that used to sit comfortably under ₹20,000 are now creeping past it, so you’ll find a mix of new and slightly older models on this list. If you’re not in a hurry, keep using the phone you already own. But if you’re seriously planning an upgrade, here are the options worth your money right now.

Quick note: Prices change frequently. Treat the figures below as approximate street prices at the time of writing — always check the latest offer before buying.

1. Redmi Note 15 — Best Entry Point (~₹20,000)

The most affordable phone on this list. Recently launched and offers a balanced package for the price.

  • Chipset: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
  • RAM/Storage: 8GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 2.2
  • Display: Curved AMOLED, 120Hz (large size, slim bezels)
  • Speakers: Dual stereo with Dolby Atmos
  • Design: Premium-feeling leather finish
  • Rear camera: 50MP (no ultrawide), 4K video
  • Selfie: 20MP, capped at ~Full HD video
  • Battery: 5800 mAh, 45W charging (charger in box)
  • Software: HyperOS 2 (Android 15), 4 years of updates promised

Verdict: A well-balanced all-rounder if you want something brand-new at the lowest price in this list. The curved display is a personal taste call.

2. Oppo K13 — The Underrated Legend (~₹20,000)

We previously gave this phone a “Best Smartphone” award when it was under ₹20,000. It still holds up today.

  • Chipset: Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 — stable, reliable performance
  • RAM/Storage: 8GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 3.1 (base variant)
  • Display: Flat Full HD+ AMOLED, 120Hz, in-display fingerprint
  • Speakers: Dual stereo
  • Rear camera: 50MP (no ultrawide), 4K video
  • Selfie: 16MP, Full HD video
  • Battery: Massive 7000 mAh, 80W charging (charger included)
  • Software: Android 15, 2 years of updates (up to Android 17)

Verdict: Outstanding battery life and solid day-to-day performance. If it dips below ₹20,000 on offer, it’s a no-brainer.

3. Realme P4 — Great All-Rounder (~₹20,000 – ₹21,000)

A genuinely well-rounded option with one of the highest refresh rates in the segment.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 7400
  • RAM/Storage: 6GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 3.1
  • Display: Full HD+ AMOLED, 144Hz, in-display fingerprint
  • Speakers: Dual stereo

  • Selfie: 16MP, Full HD video

  • Software: Realme UI 6 (Android 15), 3 years of updates

Verdict: Probably the best feature-per-rupee phone in the sub-₹21,000 bracket — ultrawide, big battery, fast charging and high refresh rate together.

4. Infinix GT 35G — For Gamers Who Want Style (~₹22,000)

A semi-transparent design with shoulder triggers and RGB lighting. Stands out visually.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 7400
  • Storage: 8GB LPDDR5X / 128GB UFS 2.2
  • Display: Flat AMOLED, 144Hz
  • Rear camera: 64MP Sony sensor + ultrawide, 4K video
  • Selfie: 13MP, 4K video
  • Battery: 5500 mAh, 45W charging (charger included)
  • Software: XOS 15 (Android 15 → 16), 2 years of updates

Verdict: Infinix has cleaned up its software significantly — fewer bloatware apps, much more usable. Pick this if the design and gaming triggers excite you.

5. Nothing Phone (3a) Lite — For the Nothing Fans (~₹22,000)

This was launched closer to ₹20,000 but has crept up. Still the most affordable Nothing phone right now.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 7300 Pro
  • Storage: 8GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 2.2
  • Display: Full HD+ AMOLED, 120Hz, in-display fingerprint

  • Selfie: 16MP, Full HD video
  • Battery: 5000 mAh, 33W charging (no charger in box)
  • Software: Nothing OS, 3 years of updates

Verdict: Buy this if you specifically want the Nothing brand experience. Otherwise, consider waiting for the upcoming CMF Phone 3 Pro.

6. Motorola Edge 60 Fusion — Premium Look (~₹23,000)

The Edge 70 Fusion has shot above ₹25,000, so the older 60 Fusion remains the value pick.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 7400
  • Storage: 8GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 2.2
  • Display: Quad-curved 1.5K pOLED, 120Hz — feels very premium
  • Speakers: Dual stereo
  • Design: Vegan leather back
  • Rear camera: 50MP with OIS (Sony LYT-700C) + 13MP ultrawide, 4K video
  • Selfie: 32MP, 4K video
  • Battery: 5500 mAh, 68W charging (charger included)
  • Software: Android 15, 3 years of updates

Verdict: The most premium-looking phone on this list. Worth it if it stays at or below ₹23,000 — skip if it climbs higher.

7. Vivo T5x — Battery Beast on a Budget (~₹22,000 – ₹23,000)

We recently compared this with the Realme P4x. Prices have crept up but it still offers a lot.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 7400
  • Storage: 6GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 3.1
  • Display: Full HD+ LCD, 120Hz (no AMOLED)
  • Speakers: Dual stereo
  • Fingerprint: Side-mounted
  • Rear camera: 50MP (no ultrawide), 4K video
  • Selfie: 32MP, 4K video
  • Battery: 7200 mAh, 44W charging
  • Software: Origin OS 6 (Android 16), 2 years of updates (up to Android 18)

Verdict: Strong battery and good camera. Skip only if AMOLED is a must for you. A great pick on offer near ₹20,000.

8. Poco X7 Pro — The Performance King (~₹23,000 – ₹24,000)

Still one of the most underrated options, and at this price you also get 256GB storage.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 8400 — rare at this price
  • Storage: 8GB LPDDR5X / 256GB UFS 4.0
  • Display: 1.5K AMOLED, 120Hz, in-display fingerprint
  • Build: Metal frame, leather back, dual speakers
  • Rear camera: 50MP Sony LYT-600 with OIS + ultrawide, 4K video
  • Selfie: 20MP, Full HD video
  • Battery: 6550 mAh, 90W charging (charger included)
  • Software: Android 15, 3 years of updates

Verdict: If raw performance matters most to you, nothing else in this list comes close. A complete package under ₹25,000.

9. Samsung Galaxy M56 5G — For Samsung Loyalists (~₹23,000 – ₹24,000)

If you specifically want a Samsung, this is now the sensible choice in this range.

  • Chipset: Exynos 1480 — balanced performer
  • Storage: 8GB LPDDR5X / 128GB UFS 3.1
  • Display: Full HD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz
  • Build: Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back, in-display fingerprint
  • Speakers: Single (average)
  • Rear camera: 50MP with OIS + ultrawide, 4K video
  • Selfie: 12MP, 4K video
  • Battery: 5000 mAh, 45W charging (no charger in box)
  • Software: One UI 7 (Android 15), 6 years of updates

Verdict: Samsung’s mid-range cameras remain a strong point. The 6-year update commitment is the longest on this list.

10. Vivo T4 / iQOO Z10 — Vivo Alternative (~₹25,000)

For those specifically wanting a Vivo/iQOO at the top of this budget.

  • Chipset: Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (note: 7s Gen 4 phones are available for just a couple thousand more)
  • Display: Quad-curved AMOLED, 120Hz
  • Speakers: Single (compromise)
  • Rear camera: 50MP with OIS (no ultrawide), 4K video
  • Selfie: 32MP, 4K video
  • Battery: 7300 mAh, 90W charging

Verdict: Decent but not the best value. Consider only if you want to stick with Vivo/iQOO. Otherwise, spending ₹2,000 more on a 7s Gen 4 device may be wiser.

11. OnePlus Nord CE 5 — Honourable Mention (~₹25,000 if available)

At the time of writing this was largely unavailable online — likely because OnePlus is pushing the new Nord CE 6. Worth grabbing from an offline OnePlus store if you can.

  • Chipset: Dimensity 8350 — excellent
  • Storage: LPDDR5X / UFS 3.1
  • Display: AMOLED, 120Hz
  • Speakers: Single (average)
  • Battery: Large capacity
  • Software: 4 years of updates (more than the upcoming Nord CE 6’s 2 years)

Verdict: If you can find it at or below ₹25,000, this is still a brilliant buy thanks to the chipset and longer software support.

Final Thoughts

Picking the “best phone under ₹25,000” has genuinely become harder. Prices have climbed, and many newly launched phones in this range come with noticeable compromises. That’s why this list intentionally mixes new and slightly older models — these are simply the ones I’d actually recommend today.
